In our vibrant community, it's the small acts of kindness and dedication that make a difference in our daily lives. Let's take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the exceptional individuals who consistently go above and beyond their duties. Their efforts not only enrich our lives but also nurture a strong sense of community spirit.In the over 20 years I%u2019ve lived in this estate, I have never seen someone as dedicated as Mr. Yeo Yiak Ghee, who goes above and beyond what is expected. Although his Mandarin isn%u2019t perfect, our society should value people for their efforts, not just their qualifications.I first noticed Mr. Yeo one quiet weekday afternoon at the upper level of the multi-storey car park. I was half a level above him, cleaning my car, when I saw him carefully moving a large wheeled dustbin and meticulously cleaning every corner. There was no one around for him to impress; the car park was completely empty. I then looked at the drain, which often used to clog and breed mosquitoes, and was amazed to find it cleaner than ever before. After watching him for a while, I went down to compliment him. Despite his broken Mandarin, he humbly replied that he was just doing his job. But to me, he was doing much more than many others who earn far higher salaries.Gary Teo, Resident
